PHK (Paul Kervegan) brings us a recording made in a boat cabin sailing somewhere between Piraeus and Chania (Crete).
In this very effective and minimal ambient work there is a steady, nervously sputtering zooming sound throughout the track which only gets abruptly disrupted by opening and closing doors/drawers. The engine of the boat makes for an underlying drone constantly in motion due to the movements of the boat in the water. Sometimes human presence becomes clear when (whom I presume is) PHK changes posture; which reminds us of the fact that even though we can get lost in the sounds of an efficient field recording: there is always that silent registrator who is the field recordist.
